Hi, I'm Gloria Morgan and I am running to be your Liberal MP in the Similkameen - South Okanagan - West Kootenay
I’ve led in law, public safety, health, and education. I know how the system works, and how to deliver results.
I’m ready to work hard in Ottawa with Mark Carney for you, your neighbours and your family.
I was born in Enderby, BC, and went to school in Armstrong, Enderby, Vernon, and at St. Eugene’s Indian Residential School. I started working when I was just 12, picking fruit in the Okanagan. Since then, I’ve been a playschool assistant, a waitress, an RCMP officer, a lawyer, and Chief of the Splatsin te Secwépemc First Nation.
I earned my Law Degree from UBC and was called to the bar in 1995. Now retired, I’ve served as a criminal defence lawyer, a Crown Prosecutor, and Circuit Counsel.
I bring deep experience in governance and leadership and look forward to representing Similkameen—South Okanagan—West Kootenay in Ottawa, championing the voices of the region.
I have served with the:
- Enderby & District Chamber of Commerce
- RCMP “E” Division Aboriginal Advisory Committee
- BC Capacity Initiative Council
- New Relationship Trust Board
- Enderby Museum Society
- Vernon VAWIR Committee
- Patient Care Quality Review Board
- Patient Safety and Quality Council, and the
- Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.
I have held leadership roles on the:
- Okanagan College Board of Governors, Splatsin Tsm7aksaltn Teaching Center Society, Splatsin Development Corporation, and the Splatsin Elders Group.
Most recently, I served on the boards for the:
- Provincial Health Services Authority and the BC Forensic Psychiatric Service Commission.
I was also a Federal Adjudicator for the Indian Residential Schools Independent Assessment Process and now serve as an Elder and Knowledge Keeper for the BC First Nations Justice Council. I am also involved in the School District 83 Food Security Working Group and am a Marriage Commissioner.
Cost of Living
The cost of living is hitting everyone. I’m ready to bring smart, practical solutions that make housing, groceries, and everyday essentials more affordable.
Better Healthcare
I know the system—I’ve served on healthcare boards at every level. Liberals will protect our universal healthcare, pharmacare, and bring in more doctors & health workers.
Affordable housing
Mark Carney’s plan will double homebuilding and cut red tape. I’ll bring that support to our riding so more people in our communities can afford a safe place to call home.
Jobs & industry
I will fight the tarrifs, back skilled trades, small business, and local industry, because strong communities need good jobs and opportunity close to home.
